England made the Indian batsman go merry go round when they got the ball in their hand. The Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan & Murali Vijay got of to a decent start but very soon they were got out. Apart from Virat Kohli no other Indian batsman was able to stay at the crease for long. India at one stage were 100/5 before Kohli resurrected a sinking shop on his shoulders. The Indian captain notched up his 22nd hundred becoming the 4th fastest to do so in Test cricket. His conversion rate from 50 to 100 is currently at 79%. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s highest score by an Indian at Edgbaston. Kohli was dropped on 21 & went onto score 149 runs.
