Federal opposition leader Anthony Albanese is standing by Labor MP Anthony Byrne after revelations at a corruption hearing in Victoria. Mr Byrne has resigned from a powerful parliamentary committee, after admitting to branch-stacking and misusing commonwealth-funded staff. He remains on Labor's backbench.
