On October 13, a video of two Karnataka Congress leaders discussing alleged corruption by DK Shivakumar, chief of the state unit went viral on social media. This video has landed the Congress party in trouble just before key assembly elections. VS Ugrappa, a former MP and MA Salim, media coordinator were caught on camera speaking to each other before the start of a press conference. The conversation between the two party workers referred to \"adjustments (from six-eight per cent to 12 per cent)\" by Shivakumar. They also spoke about how an aide of Shivakumar \"made around 50-100 crore.” The two party workers also referred to Shivakumar as a drunkard. Shivakumar tweeted, “I cannot be expected to respond to the hallucinations, loose talks and gossip of some people.” BJP has demanded Shivakumar's resignation and they want a formal inquiry into the corruption allegations.
