Opposition leaders are up in arms against the Uttar Pradesh government over the violence that transpired in Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday. The latest to join the bandwagon is Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who led a protest outside the residence of the Punjab governor in Chandigarh demanding the arrest of Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish, who allegedly ran over farmers in Lakhimpur yesterday. Sidhu and other Congress MLAs staging the protest were later detained.
