Oil Prices Drop On Supply Concerns

2021-10-01 19

Oil fell from previous highs over $80 per barrel to $78 per barrel on Friday after OPEC+ nations said they might increase production ahead of schedule. After hitting a 3-year high this week, oil prices across the world are fluctuating as analysts, investors and even policymakers themselves wonder what will happen next. Brent crude fell half a percent to $77.84 early Friday while U.S. West Texas Intermediate fell to $74.50 per barrel. Stephen Brennock of PVM noted, “the prospect of $80 oil does not sit well with the producer group.”
