Epidemiologist says higher vaccination rates needed before reopening borders

Australians could start travelling overseas without an exemption from next month. States and territories will be allowed to open their borders once they hit an 80 percent vaccination rate. However, Epidemiologist Louise McLaws says that vaccination rates among 16-39 year olds is still low and that we should wait until they reach 80 percent before reopening as they are the main group responsible for spreading the virus.
