The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, has called for a 'Bharat Bandh' on Monday to mark one year of the passage of the Centre's three farm laws. The call for the bandh has been supported by major opposition parties including the Congress, BSP, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party, Telugu Desam Party, Left parties, and Swaraj India. The SKM on Sunday appealed for complete peace during the Bandh and urged all Indians to join the strike. Its widespread effect is visible in many states including Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, UP, where the protesting farmers have closed the National Highway and other roads since morning. Among many opposition parties, the Bharat Bandh also got the support of AAP. AAP leader Sanjay Singh was seen attacking BJP in a poetic style.
