Mahant Narendra Giri’s final rites took place at the Baghambari Math in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Wednesday. His body was found hanging in his room at the math on Monday. In his suicide note, he claimed that he was being blackmailed by one of his disciples, Anand Giri. Two other people were also named in the suicide note.
The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday constituted an 18-member SIT to probe the death of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president.
