Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2017 :Meet our very own mountain man, Rajaram Bhapkar, who carved 7 mountains to build roads 40 kms long over a period of 57 years!
Bhapkar Guruji is a retired teacher from Gundegaon village in Ahmednagar district. He built the roads in the mountainous villages and financed them himself when the government authorities did not respond to his plea for the development of roads in the region. Guruji paid the wages of the workers from his own salary.
