Scrub typhus, the mysterious fever in Uttar Pradesh, has consumed 51 lives so far, 40 of which are children, government data said. But according to unofficial sources, the fever has accounted for the lives of many more with at least 80 deaths in Firozabad alone, where the fever was first reported. Cases of scrub typhus have been reported mainly from Firozabad, Agra, Mainpuri, Etah and Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh.
