Reddit has banned anti-vaccine and anti-mask subreddit r/NoNewNormal and has quarantined 54 other subreddits associated with Covid denial. Though the platform is meant to be a place for open discussion and debate, today, the company clarified its rules with regard to health misinformation. The subreddit NoNewNormal has been tagged by many in the Reddit community as a source of vaccine misinformation. NoNewNormal was the source of 80 different interrupted or “brigaded” conversations in the community this month. Reddit security issued a warning for the behavior, and it continued, leading to NoNewNormal’s ban.
