The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation on Tuesday said that it will pay a compensation of Rs 4.5 lakh to 2,035 passengers of Tejas Express for the late running of the trains on Saturday and Sunday. Tejas Express arrived late by about two and a half hours due to a signal failure at New Delhi railway station after heavy rains on Saturday. Even on Sunday, the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas was delayed for about an hour. There is a provision that passengers of Tejas Express will get compensation of Rs 100 for the train being late by one hour and Rs 250 for a delay of two hours or more. The IRCTC will have to refund Rs 4,49,600 as compensation to passengers. Watch this video.
