Many women also contributed to the scientific world of medicine. In this presentation, we talked about 12 women scientists who received the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology (Gertie Teresa Cori, Rosalyn Sussman Yalow, Barbara McClintock, Rita Levi-Montalcini, Gertrude Elion, Christian Nuslein-Volhard, Linda Buck, Françoise Barre-Sinoussi, Elizabeth Blackburn, Carol Greider, May-Britt Moser, Tu Youyou).

Among them are well-known biochemists, biophysicists, virologists, pharmacologists, neurobiologists, biologists who discovered various phenomena (the mechanism of protection of chromosomes by telomeres, the mechanism of the brain according to its representation in space, factors regulating the growth of cells and organs, genetic control in the early stages of embryonic development, a combined scheme for coding odors, catalytic conversion of glycogen) or drugs (for example, drugs for malaria), viruses (HIV), or methods of diagnosis and treatment (principles of drug therapy, radioimmunological methods for determining hormones).
