New South Wales yesterday introduced its toughest restrictions yet, with the lockdown extended by a month. Professor Mary-Louise McLaws, an epidemiologist and advisor to the World Health Organisation, says the extension is most likely to stem the outbreak, as many residents are still ineligible for the vaccine.
