The transport authorities in Telangana on Monday cracked down on tax evasion by luxury car owners in the state and seized 15 high-end vehicles. According to Papa Rao, the Deputy Transport Commissioner, a 40-member team of motor vehicle inspectors conducted random inspections on high-end cars on August 15. Out of 15 cars, 11 luxury vehicles were found plying without paying due tax. RTA says it will earn approximately Rs 5 to Rs 8 crore of revenue from these seized vehicles. Seized vehicles include Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, BMW, Lamborghini and many other luxury brands owned by the big and mighty of Hyderabad.
