Government chief whip Ismail Sabri Yaakob has assured that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government still has the support of most MPs, amid fresh doubts on Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s hold on power.
In an immediate response, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim challenged PN to put its legitimacy to the test in the Dewan Rakyat.
“He is a minister. He is a son of Pahang. Does he understand derhaka (treason)? Does he understand royal decrees? Does he understand the role of Parliament?
“I wish to advise people like this who are stubborn and insist on treason on clear-cut matters: Read the law, respect the Constitution, and respect the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby yesterday.
