As monsoon wreaks havoc in Maharashtra, landslides triggered by heavy downpours are reported to have claimed the lives of over 30 people in Raigad district. The Indian Meterological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in the upcoming days, following which a red alert has been issued in the districts.
According to the Relief and Habilitation department, 136 people have lost their lives due to floods so far. Rescue operations in several flood-hit districts are underway.
