Indian army in Kargil _ Archival footage of daily field life of brave soldiers of India

2021-07-16 11

A rare glimpse into the daily routines of the Indian Army when in the field in a border station.

Army personnel shaving, polishing shoes and some tying their turbans at the army camp in Kargil. After getting ready they go and sit in front of the holy book Guru Granth Sahib before they start to get on with their warm-up. Listening to songs over the radio and eating food has now become their life. Gathered around the postmaster, they wait and read letters from their families and ensure that they write back to them.

Officer 1 says "If we cry then how will we take care of the country."
Officer 2 says "Yes we think of them back home but being here for the country is important."
Officer 3 says "I do write to my family and there is a huge difference in talking face to face and via letter."
