Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra's elder brother, film producer Vir Chopra, died due to Covid-19 on July 5. Vidhu Vinod Chopra's wife, film critic Anupama Chopra, confirmed the news of Vir Chopra's death, on July 8. The Times Of India reported the producer got infected with the virus while he was in the Maldives. After two days, he landed in Mumbai and was rushed to H. N. Reliance hospital, for 21 days. He was kept under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He passed away on July 5 evening and was cremated on July 6. Vir Chopra was a film producer and he worked with Vidhu Vinod Chopra on several films like 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. He was the creative producer of films like Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Mission Kashmir, Parineeta, Broken Horses and Kareeb. Vir was the husband of sound designer Namita Nayak Chopra and father of actor Abhay Chopra aka Vicky Chopra. Marvel star Robert Downey Jr, who lost his dad Robert Downey Sr on July 7, shared an emotional eulogy on his Instagram profile. Robert Downey Sr, a filmmaker, died at the age of 85.
