Scientists have discovered a new species of humans which is believed to have been the closest to modern-day humans.
Thanks to an incredibly well-preserved human fossil, believed to be at least 146,000 years, scientists were able to compare it to other known fossils and conclude it belonged to a different species.
The study suggests this species, named Dragon man is closer to modern-day humans than Neanderthals.
Experts believe the analysis has the potential to rewrite major elements of our understanding of human evolution
