Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath will not be replaced before the 2022 assembly elections, said BJP leader Arun Singh. Singh, the party's national general secretary, is also in-charge of the BJP's Rajasthan and Karnataka units.
Speaking to India Today in Jaipur on Tuesday, Arun Singh said, "There is no question of replacing Yogi Adityanath. He is and will remain our chief ministerial face in UP."
The BJP leader's statement aims to put to rest speculation about rumblings within the BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit. In a letter to UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh on Monday, the party's newly appointed UP vice president AK Sharma also said that the BJP will go into the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls with Yogi Adityanath as its face.
