Filipino digital nomads work in beach tourist spots
Lockdown-weary Filipino digital nomads are moving to work near the beach and mountains as the lingering coronavirus pandemic triggers a remote work set-up in shuttered tourist destinations. "I got to spend time being creative again, thinking about what to do next," says an entrepeneur who had moved to the coast to work.
Entrepreneur Carlo Almendral holds virtual meeting with clients and works on artificial intelligence in between his morning biking on the countryside, sipping wine with friends on the shore during sunsets.
The new work set-up inspires creativity and eases mental stress, they said, as well as support the struggling tourism business amid restrictions on leisure travel.
