will join forces on a campaign this fall

The campaign is being spearheaded by nonprofits Open to All and Hollaback as well as the
Retail Industry Leaders Association.
ABC reports that retail workers have
faced increased harassment as they
try to enforce social distancing and
mask protocols amid the pandemic.
People of color, those with disabilities
and members of the LGBTQ+ community have
been among those targeted in retail settings. .
Participating retailers
will install signage in
their stores with QR codes
that allow customers to
sign a pledge of support. .
A tool kit designed by
Hollaback will also show
customers how they can help,
including ways to create a
distraction for the abuser...
...as well as documenting the situation
and bringing in someone else to help
the target of the abuse.
According to ABC, as the spread of COVID-19 slows, retailers are concerned that abusive behavior will worsen as stores enter the back-to-school and holiday seasons.
