In Bundelkhand, one of the poorest regions in India, farmers are deprived of cash, seeds, fertilisers, and diesel for the sowing season. Farmers are suffering and are pushed back into a debt cycle while groups not as affected by the cash crunch are saying that demonetisation will be for the greater good of the nation.
