Anadolu Efes Istanbul won the EuroLeague title for the first time in their history on Sunday with an 86-81 victory over FC Barcelona in a gripping final in Cologne on Sunday.
Anadolu were appearing in their second successive final but went one better than in 2019 when they lost out to CSKA Moscow.
Barcelona started well on Sunday and led by ten points during the second period.
But Anadolu slowly began to take a grip on the game and led by seven points going into the final quarter.
With Vasilije Micic to the fore from the free throw line, Anadolu held their nerve and became European champions amid ecstatic scenes.
Micic ended with 25 points, while Shane Larkin added 21 for Anadolu - Cory Higgins' 23 points were in vain for Barcelona
