The Bengaluru administration on May 22 resumed the Covid-19 vaccination drive after eight days for people in the 18-44 years age group at several vaccination centres in Bengaluru. “The frontline warriors will be the first to receive the jabs followed by other eligible groups in the list as per the guidelines and we are checking the ID cards. There is no shortage and we are giving according to the stock,” a volunteer said. “I came here after hearing the vaccination drive started for 18-44 age group people and here they are saying it’s for frontline warriors first and then for other people,” a local said. The decision came eight days after the government ordered the suspension of the vaccination drive for this group in the absence of adequate supply of vaccines.
