West Bengal governor Jadeep Dhankhar is on a visit to post-poll violence-affected areas of the state. On May 15, he arrived in Nandigram, from where BJP’s Suvendhu Adhikari defeated TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, to take cognisance of the violence that took place. Terming the double attack, of Covid-19 and unprecedented post-poll violence as “serious crisis", Governor Jadeep Dhankhar appealed to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take not of it as millions of people are suffering. “It is time when we can't sleep over, such a great challenge to our state. We are sitting on a volcano where people are forced to leave their houses, they are being subjected to all kinds of indignities, killings, rapes, loots and extortion tax,” said WB Governor.
