To curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus, weekend lockdown has been imposed in Kerala. On May 1, streets remain deserted and shops remain closed in Thiruvananthapuram and only essential services and emergency services were permitted on Saturdays and Sundays. On April 30, Kerala reported 37,199 new cases.
