चैत्र नवरात्र का आज छठा दिन है। इन दिनों मां दुर्गा के सभी भक्त मां की भक्ति में लीन है। आज के पावन दिन मां कात्यायनी की पूजा की जा रही है। फलदायिनी और संहारिणी दोनों रूप हैं मां कात्यायिनी के। माता कात्यायनी का भी वाहन सिंह है। इस पर आरूढ़ होकर उन्होंने महिषासुर का वध किया। इसलिए मां कात्यायनी कहलाई महिषासुरमर्दनी।
