The life of a spice seller in India. The shop of the spice seller was owned by his forefathers in 1930. Today this shop is one of the most popular spice shops in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi. This young man's name is Karan Singh Chauhan and he is 19 years old. His family is from Uttar Pradesh, although he was born in Delhi. His father does the same profession, as his forefathers have been doing for generations. He is not married and his family composes of a father, mother, brother and sister. He has a total of 12 shops, and he greatly enjoys running his business. His forefathers knew how lucrative the spice business was, and today they've developed a reputation of quality in the market. He doesn't underestimate the importance of luck in his success however, and he attributes a fair amount of his prosperity to it. His family started this business in 1930, and they can currently earn enough money to support their family. However recently, due to inflation, the cost of commodity has risen and demand has decreased. This has affected both shopkeepers and customers, as people are buying things but in lesser quantities. He is not a politician but he believes that if each and every person works hard and gives their best things will change in the economy.
