The coronavirus situation in India continues to remain grim as the country continues to see an upsurge in its virus cases. India on Tuesday registered 1.61 lakh new Covid-19 cases and 879 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the country's tally to 1,36,89,453, according to the Union health ministry.
