CoBRA jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas who was kidnapped by the Naxals during Bijapur attack on April 3, has been released by them, the Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) said on Thursday. The director-general of the CRPF has confirmed that Constable Rakeshwar Singh Manhas has been released. He has been taken for a medical check up, the DG CRPF said. According to the initial input, the CoBRA jawan was released in the presence of the two mediators appointed by the government — Padma Shri Dharmpal Saini and Gondwana Samaj head Telam Buraiya— and hundreds of villagers.
