1829年にジョアキーノロッシーニが作曲したオペラ『ウィリアムテル』のための序曲。日本でも広く知られるクラシック音楽作品の1つです。フリードリヒフォンシラーが1804年に書いた戯曲『ヴィルヘルムテル』を元に、1829年にロッシーニがオペラ『ギヨームテル』を作曲しました。その序曲が日本で一般に『ウィリアムテル序曲』と呼ばれています。
特に第4部はラジオやテレビなど、さまざまな場面で使用されています。
