Protecting The PH Fish Industry
Fish vendors inside the Paco market in Manila display their produce on April 3, 2021. In a statement released on April 2, AGHAM - Advocates of Science and Technology for the People, a national group of Science and Technology professionals, warned that territorial disputes could lead to the collapse of the fishing industry. The group of scientists said that Chinese activities in the disputed territories have resulted in the destruction of at least 16,000 hectares of reefs as of 2017.
