Speaking on the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s resignation over his involvement in corruption, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on March 22 said, “It is clear that during the period about which the allegations were made, Anil Deshmukh was hospitalised. As this is clear, such demands hold no power.”
Earlier, in an ongoing investigation in the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case and Sachin Vaze case, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, in a letter to Maharasthra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, accused state HM Deshmukh of demanding extortion money from Vaze. However, Deshmukh dismissed the allegations.
