Labour's Deputy Leader, Angela Rayner, has said she hopes the vigil for Sarah Everard can go ahead "in a Covid secure way". Following an outpouring from women on social media sharing their experiences of gender-based violence, Ms Rayner said that "women's voices should not be silenced" and "must be heard".
