THE MOU SIGNED BETWEEN SECURITY DIVISION AND KMC TO ENHANCE THE SKILLS AND CAPACITY OF EMERGENCY RESPONSE DEPARTMENTS OF KMC

Karachi: - An MoU was signed between Security and Emergency Services Division, Karachi Police and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to enhance the skills and capacity of Emergency Response Departments of KMC i.e. Fire Brigade, KMC Medical Services, KMC Municipal Services and City Wardens by providing them training on modern lines in order to prepare them to meet any emergency situation effectively, professionally and promptly.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Laeeq Ahmed, DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed and other senior officials in a specially organized ceremony at Frere Hall.

The pact was signed by Superintendent of Police Madadgar-15 Abdullah Memon on behalf of the Security and Emergency Services Division and Director City Warden KMC Raja Rustam on behalf of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

The Administrator KMC Laeeq Ahmed addressing the ceremony extended his gratitude to the Karachi Police especially, the Security Division for providing professional training in line with the modern needs to the different departments of KMC.

He further stated that the traffic wardens of KMC plays an efficient role in managing traffic of the city, they will be now further acquainted with training as per modern needs by the police.

The Administrator Karachi praising the performance of Madadgar-15 said that the unit has now been working more efficiently and effectively. On his call, the Madadgar-15 responded in just 6-7 minutes in an emergency situation in recent time which is worth commendable.

DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed on the occasion said that it will be a great step forward in revamping the emergency response departments of the economic hub of the country. Moreover, Traffic wardens would be brought to professional standards after providing them training in line with the latest needs.

DIG S&ESD highlighted that notable changes have been brought on the administrative level of Madadgar-15 and the response time of Madadgar-15 has been reduced from 30-40 minutes to be within 10 minutes.

He further said that KMC and Police both have the responsibilities of serving the public, police will always extend its cooperation for the betterment of the services. It will be an honor for the Security Division to be a part of such initiative for the betterment of the city.
