The Lamborghini Urus is the first off-road Lambo since the LM002, of which only 328 were built between 1986 and 1993. The Italians refer to the Urus as the "first super SUV". To do justice to this expression, the Urus comes with 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque. With a top speed of 305 km/h, the Urus replaces the Bentley Bentayga (301 km/h) as the fastest SUV in the world. For the first time in the company's history, the Italians are using a turbo engine - the vacuum cleaners are reserved for sports cars. Visually, the 5.11 meter long SUV fits in well with the family. The window line is extra narrow, the air inlets at the front are huge. The headlights have the typical Lambo Y-signature, the hood is pulled down low and the radiator grille forms a hexagonal pattern. In profile, the Urus could easily pass as an SUV coupé: the roofline drops sharply, while the rear fenders are strongly flared. The hexagonal wheel arch cutouts pay homage to the Countach and LM002. The rear has a comparatively simple design, we could also find the jagged taillights on the brand's sports cars. But even the proportions make it clear: Lambo could not put the Urus on its wheels that completely without help. It is based on the Audi Q8, which will be presented in spring 2018 - including a flat roof, frameless side windows and engine.
Despite all its sportiness, the Urus should also be able to do off-road. If you book the optional off-road package, you get the additional driving modes "Terra" (off-road) and "Sabbia" (sand). A Spanish fighting bull traditionally contributes the name Urus. The Lambo SUV is to be delivered to the first customers in spring 2018 and will prevail against Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Co.
The driving settings are made via two semicircular honors to the left and right of the start / stop button. Lamborghini calls the switches Tamburo, Italian for drum, which are reminiscent of the two semicircular elevations. The left drum is called Anima and defines the driving mode in six levels: Strada, Sport, Corsa (race track), Terra, Sabbia (sand) and Neve (snow). The opposite is called Ego and controls the drive, steering and dampers.
