Love is in the Air, so is COVID
Love is in the air as flowers in full bloom are on display at the Dangwa market in Manila, two days before Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2021. Manila police mill around reminding vendors and customers to observe health protocols to prevent a Covid surge. Business, however, remains slow. As of February 12, the price of flowers ranges from P350 to P5,000.
Flowers for Sale but Who's Buying?
Nadia Lachica, a vendor at the Dangwa flower market, talks to The Manila Times about the slow sales two days before Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2021. She said the pandemic has discouraged customers from going to the market as they settle for online deliveries.
