A gas main fire caused flames to shoot out of manholes in South Harlem Friday, officials said.
The blaze broke out just before 1:30 pm at West 114 Street and Seventh Avenue, according to fire officials.
The call went to a second alarm to help check the surrounding buildings.
Con Edison was on scene and shut off the gas line, according to the FDNY.
As of 4 pm, an FDNY spokesman said the incident was “de-escalating.”
No injuries were reported.
