High-ranking officials take oath pledging loyalty to Hong Kong and the Basic Law

More than two dozen high-ranking officials in Hong Kong took oaths vowing to uphold the city’s mini-constitution on December 15, 2020. The ceremony is part of the government’s new policy to require roughly 180,000 civil servants to swear allegiance to Hong Kong and promise to uphold the Basic Law.  Video courtesy: CCTV
