For Sahel artists, a lifeline in WhatsApp recordings

US-based record label "Sahel Sounds", which specialises in music from Africa's semi-arid Sahel, releases monthly EPs online which local artists record on mobile phones and send to Portland, Oregon over WhatsApp.
