Meanwhile, South Korea will provide a one-time subsidy of 500-thousand Korean won that's around 460 U.S. dollars to each of the country's roughly 90-thousand home care workers and after school teachers... in the first half of next year.
The measures announced by the labor ministry today are part of a new support program for essential workers during this pandemic, which include those in healthcare, delivery services, call centers... and public sanitation.
Also to help sanitation workers, the government will get rid of the big 100-liter garbage bags for households, which often end up being too heavy to lift.
