The debts of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) currently stand at RM10.7bil, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
He told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Dec 14) that the government has agreed to give a two-year moratorium to Felda due to financial and liquidity issues.
Mustapa said in the Dewan Rakyat that Felda had told the government that it could not afford to pay some of its debts and was facing some liquidity problems worth RM1.3bil.
"The government has agreed to provide a moratorium for two years to Felda for one of its debts and for another institution to give Felda a six-month moratorium," he said.
