연말 '우주쇼'…14일 쌍둥이자리 유성우•21일 목성-토성 근접
2020 has been a year to forget for many, but it will finish big with some rare spectacles lighting up the night sky.
According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, the Geminid meteor shower will peak on the night of December 14th, causing a wave of shooting stars.
But it won't end there.
A week later, Jupiter and Saturn will form a visible alignment.
The planets align every 20 years,... but this one is extra special.
On December 21st, they will appear just a tenth of a degree apart, the closest they've appeared from Earth in 800 years.
Astronomers say that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can be best observed with a telescope,... but the naked eye should also be fine.
