The Biden transition officially begins.
The White House on Tuesday finally signed off on President-elect Joe Biden receiving daily intelligence briefings.
Biden will now be privy to classified intelligence reports regarding national security threats.
This step is considered an integral part of a government's transition.
The White House and the General Services Administration,... the U.S. agency responsible for aiding the government transition,... had been putting off granting access to Biden to these briefings for almost three weeks.
But following the GSA's ascertainment of Biden on Monday, White House doors are opening up one-by-one.
"They've been very forthcoming, offering all access. And so we're going to be starting those on a regular basis."
As Biden prepares for his move to the White house, he also announced on Tuesday his Cabinet picks.
With Anthony Blinken as secretary of state, Alejandro Mayorkas as secretary of homeland security, and Jake Sullivan as national security advisor,... the Biden administration fully intends the U.S. to take back the global leadership role.
"The team meets this moment, this team behind me. They embody my core beliefs that America is strongest when it works with its allies."
