Swab tests on foreign workers in all sectors and industries will be made compulsory in several states, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
They include Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Sabah, and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan.
The Senior Minister said that on Friday, adding that the National Security Council (NSC) special meeting also agreed to the proposal presented by the Human Resources Ministry that the RTK antigen test be conducted on the foreign workers instead of the PCR test.
Ismail also said that as for charges, Socso will subsidise RM60 for the test to be done on foreign workers who are contributors and the remaining is to be paid by employers whereas cost to test foreign workers who are not contributors will be borne by their employers.
