As in other countries, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive job losses in South Korea, and those in their 20s or 30s have been hit the hardest.
According to Statistics Korea, the number of full-time, regular workers in their 20s and 30s is down by almost 240-thousand compared to last year.
Regular workers are defined as those hired for a year or more, so the decline means there are fewer quality jobs.
The Korea Economic Research Institute conducted a survey of South Korea's top 500 firms, and of the 120 that replied, half of them said that they had no plans of to hire people in the near future.
