Tommy Heinsohn died on Tuesday after battling medical issues throughout 2020. Nick Gelso, CEO of CLNS Media, brought Bob Ryan, who covered Tommy Heinsohn through every stretch of his career. Cedric Maxwell played in front of Tommy the commentator during his first season calling Celtics games and later joined the broadcasting ranks with Tommy. Bob became the Boston beat writer during the days of Coach Tommy Heinsohn. He notes the longevity of Heinsohn, who was as known to fans in Boston in the 1950s as he was to those growing up in the 2010s.
