On January 30, 1948 Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi led the struggle for independence that resulted in India getting freedom from the British rule on August 15, 1947. However, his views were not really appreciated by some like his killer Nathhuram Godse. He was against the secular ideology of Gandhi. Several attempts were made to kill Gandhi before the final attack on January 30, 1948.
